This is an opening for a Broadband Project Manager
Description:
WiValley is growing and has new broadband projects coming into the pipeline. We are currently focused on rolling out new community broadband solutions and we are seeking a Broadband Project Manager to Lead field installations of core network infrastructure as well as installing and servicing equipment deployed at residential and business customers throughout NH and MA and VT
Requires Excellent verbal and written communication skills including documentation
Must be available for a flexible work schedule (possible weekends, holidays, evenings)
The most important skills for the successful candidate are:
· Demonstrated Project Management skills
· Ability to lead field installation crews
· Ability to maintain, configure, and troubleshoot network equipment
· Must have ability to work with and direct subcontractors
· Ability to install maintain, configure and troubleshoot traditional telephony components
· Ability to install maintain, configure and troubleshoot wireless and fiber network components
· Understanding of infrastructure cabling, i.e. fiber, copper, and coax
· Understanding of wireless infrastructure, ie Access points, subscriber modules, PtP links
· Ability to maintain inventory and be self directed to deploy customer premise equipment
Requirements:
· At least 18 years of age and able to work in the United States
· Possess a valid driver’s license with good driving record
· Strong working knowledge of hand tools and power tools
· Handyman “Fix it”, “ Do it yourself” attitude
· Strong computer skills and comfortable operating electronic devices
· Strong Customer service skills and professional appearance
· Professional language and polite interaction with customers is a requirement
· Training will be provided on equipment and installations
· Understanding of GPS, Geo Location mapping and coordinate systems
· Military experience and training not required but taken into consideration
· Understanding of or willing to be trained on Fiber, Wireless, Cabling, and Phone systems
Physical Requirements:
· Be able to life 50+ lbs.
· Be comfortable climbing up to heights of 100 feet or higher
· Ability to climb towers, experienced rock climbers or other adventure sports preferred
· Be able to work safely from a ladder rated maximum of 300 lbs. including all tools and equipment
· Be comfortable working in crawl spaces and attics
· Comfortable working outdoors in all types of weather conditions throughout the year
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Lead field crews for installation deployment projects
· Direct Sub Contractors
· Work with engineering plans and coordinate all site work
· Performs signal strength test and quality tests, per guidelines.
· Conducts outdoor and indoor wireless equipment installations
· Cables, assembles, installs, configures, and commissions a variety of radio and related equipment. Installation of routers and wiring as needed
· Adheres strictly to safety guidelines and requirements
· Ensures that documentation is effectively completed and submitted, as appropriate
· Climb ladders or install antenna where directed on buildings, utility poles or towers
· Accurately maintains vehicle and installation or service parts inventory. Keeps workplace clean and organized. Submits all reports in a timely fashion
This job requires integrity, positive attitude, interaction, energy, education, organization, and both intelligence and manual skills. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Strong experience with network configuration and troubleshooting.
Candidates must possess strong verbal, written, and numerical communication skills, and strong capabilities on personal computers, test equipment, and software applications. Must be willing to work flexible schedules for testing, trouble shooting and repairs and may have some on call time for possible repair calls or for outages. Scheduled time off will be available as well. Position requires good team work as well as the ability to work independently and think outside of the box. Ability to change focus on different projects as needed.
